WakeUP and Explore: 2017 City Livability Tour
A curated exploration of Downtown Raleigh
Discover what makes the city sustainable, dynamic and livable!
The WakeUP and Explore City Livability Tour is a self-guided walking tour providing a unique opportunity to explore Raleigh’s vibrant, changing downtown. New, old, repurposed and renovated, the southern end of downtown between Raleigh’s brand new Union Station, Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts, and historic Shaw University holds some of Raleigh’s hidden treasures. Tour participants will be invited into businesses, residences and historic properties to learn how urban design and sustainable development come together to create community and quality of life. The tour benefits WakeUP, the nonprofit dedicated to building a sustainable Wake County through advancing public transit, effective land use, clean drinking water and strong public schools.
